Psychometric Testing

Psychometric tests are designed to objectively measure aspects of mental ability or personality. They provide employers with a reliable method of selecting the most suitable job applicants or candidates for promotion.

Psychometric testing is now almost universally accepted as a major tool in the selection of candidates for key positions, and in the continual assessment of an individual regarding his or her suitability for their held position.

Rosy Dessain is a Qualified Practitioner for Psychometric Testing and the process is straightforward and easy to complete. Once we have been given the candidate’s name and email address, Thomas & Dessain will make contact and invite them to undertake the test online.

Numerical Reasoning

Numerical Reasoning is designed to measure a candidate’s ability to make correct decisions or inferences from numerical or statistical data. The test is intended to measure the ability to work with numerical data in a realistic workplace context.

Verbal Reasoning

Verbal Reasoning is designed to measure a candidate’s ability to evaluate the logic of various arguments, presented in written form. Questions are based around content that typifies a variety of work settings, and the test measures the candidate’s ability to determine the correct solution.

These tests take no more than 30 minutes to complete and the results are compared with a test group. We tend to compare results with the highest level of graduate (financial), as this sets a high standard to achieve.

Occupational Personality Questionnaire

The other popular test we perform is the Occupational Personality Questionnaire, which measures workplace behaviour style. Understanding how a person’s personality affects their behaviour and performance at work is key to identifying competencies and matching the right people to the right jobs.

This test is designed to help employers make better people decisions, minimise the risk of incorrect selection, and maximise development outcomes for individuals.
