Finance Manager + travel to Guernsey
The postholder will have a critical and valuable position, working cross Island with management of finance team, and will be at the forefront of executing some of the most important tasks in the annual cycle, including preparation of the firm’s consolidated financial statements. He/she will oversee cash forecasting; monthly cost accounting cycle; act as primary contact for issue resolution; project manage annual external and internal audit visits; annual cost budgeting; oversee team's execution of Accounts Payable, Staff Expenses, Cash Receivables and monthly reconciliations and controls; advise on strategic financial decisions; build and maintain key finance community relationships; identify and implement changes and efficiencies to maximise effectiveness of finance team processes. Full training will be provided on the firm’s systems and processes and you will be given substantial opportunity to get to know those systems as part of the induction to the role.
Candidate will have at least 5 years experience working in a finance or accounting related function; strong technical skills including Excel, and an ability to learn other systems quickly; experience in managing a team; excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritise workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines; strong analytical, coaching and communication skills; desirably an accountancy qualification; proactive, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work, be interested in self-development; knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not essential.
