This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to take overall responsibility for and deliver all in-house legal requirements and support development and implementation of Group-wide, multi-jurisdictional legal framework, manage end to end complaints process, and act as Data Protection Officer.  He/she will manage breaches and report to regulator if required; recommend changes as appropriate; manage agreements, data sharing policies, systems and controls; create and manage group wide registers such as complaints, litigation and conflicts of interest; develop and deliver programme of support and training across Group to increase legal risk awareness; conduct HR/internal investigations; provide practical legal advice and perspective; drive enhanced efficiency and client service; ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations; develop communication plans; communication with external lawyers; manage litigation advice; ensure legal risks understood and update risk register; maintain and review procedures to ensure compliance and fit for purpose; initiatives and projects; identify litigation changes in order to enhance services; undertake staff appraisals and recruitment interviews.

Candidate will be qualified UK/Jersey lawyer with at least 3-5 years PQE and 5 years finance industry experience; experience in onshore and offshore regulatory environments, and knowledge of Jersey finance industry and regulatory requirements and of Luxembourg/Cayman/Bahrain, and of FATCA and CRS; experience managing cross-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional legal issues; experience of key risks regarding information security and data protection; DPO experience; understanding of legal and risk management principles and best practice, and of company typical client structures and business lines; MS Office proficiency; team player; diplomatic approach; confident and assertive; strong communication, stakeholder management, persuading, leadership and influencing skills; ability to draft legal concepts clearly and to translate regulatory requirements to commercial application; practical and commercial approach to problem solving; proven ability to deliver efficiency enhancements; results driven; proactive; resilient; adaptable; committed to legal and compliance service excellence.
