Flexible, 3+ month contract to provide efficient support service to an Associate and Partner on specific contentious trusts matter and more generally to assist across wider commercial and trusts litigation team. Postholder will assist in drafting a range of legal documents; review and summarise legal and other documents; perform legal research and analysis; print and collate legal documents; check legal forms/documents for accuracy; assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence and bundles; maintain system based filing systems, assist in file openings and CDD requirements; support team's marketing plans; adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations as required; take responsibility for a wide range of tasks/projects as required by the partners/lawyers in the group.
Ideally the postholder will have completed or be working towards the BPTC or LPC; some previous experience in a legal environment, ideally in a similar role; document management experience would be useful; strong IT skills; excellent communication skills (written and verbal); willingness and ability to learn about Jersey law. Desirable would be organisational/time management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a workload effectively within deadlines; responsible, disciplined and methodical approach and a keen eye for detail; ability to use initiative to resolve issues and to work independently with appropriate supervision; team spirit and flexibility. The post holder will be expected to be committed to fulfil personal CPD requirements and continually develop skill base.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
