Management Accountant/Assistant Accountant
Our client seeks the ideal candidate to oversee management reports, period end journals and preparation of management accounts, divisional budgets and divisional forecasts, and monthly board packs and other ad hoc reporting. He/she will handle period end journals; cost of sales calculations and review; balance sheet reconciliations; maintain accurate month end files; liaise with external auditors; ensure integrity of business unit ledger; undertake promotional analyses, markdown calculations and review, financial review of business opportunities, and internal controls for financial related processes; assist with the training & development of new staff; ensure Managers have a full understanding of the financial aspects of their role; ensure that procedures relevant to financial information are fully understood by those responsible for their ongoing production; undertake comprehensive analysis and reporting on all stock issues; ownership of the accounting process with particular reference to balance sheets; P & L reporting on cost of sales; regular reconciliations of stock accounts; improve inventory reporting analytics to provide meaningful and insightful information; attendance at stocktakes.
Requirements are commercial experience; accounting skills/knowledge & analysis; studying/part qualified/qualified as ACCA/ACA/CIMA/equivalent; interpretation of reports/numbers; understand process – end to end and effect on Accounts; ability to investigate, negotiate, mediate and resolve issues; Change Agent; excellent numeracy, communication/interpersonal skills, and organisational skills; IT proficient with the ability to work with numerous IT systems to source data; intermediate to advanced MS Excel Skills; able to multi-task, work on own initiative, at pace and under pressure to meet tight deadlines; ability to understand objectives and goals at all levels; understanding of P & L reporting; proven track record in delivering excellent results within an accountant department; experience in managing stock to stock reconciliation.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
