Description
The purpose of the Business Compliance Officer is to enable the execution of Compliance Risk Management processes and activities within a specific business/functional area and to ensure that the area is undertaken in a compliant manner to avoid operational losses, fines, penalties, or reputational damage to the organisation and enable the competitive advantage of the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide advice regarding the regulatory universe and relevant compliance frameworks
- Keep abreast of and analyse regulatory and legislative developments to deliver expert advice to relevant stakeholders
- Report all material compliance issues
- Review compliance training material to ensure that it is appropriate for the needs of the functional area
- Provide assurance through routine monitoring activities on key business risks and regulatory gaps
You will need:
- First Degree in Business Commerce, Legal & Audit or Professional Compliance Qualification (e.g. ICA) essential
- Post Graduate Degree in Legal and Audit preferred
- 5-7 years within a Compliance Operations function
- Exposure to client risk is essential
